Jennifer started her journey in Physical Therapy and after injuring herself she quickly found first-hand the effectiveness of Acupuncture. She mentored under a Japanese acupuncturist for almost a year before enrolling in Acupuncture school.
Jennifer attended the Alberta College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine and graduated in 2005. She also began working with Dr. Ma, a 27th generation Chinese Medicine Doctor. She was able to learn invaluable skills and even some Mandarin after working in China town with him for some time.
Initially after graduation, Jennifer began her career by working in a sports clinic with professional athletes and Olympians. She gained a wealth of experience and knowledge in treating sports injuries and pain conditions.
Jennifer loves to study and grow as practitioner. She has taken a large number of specialized courses over the years in gynecology, infertility and obstetrics (Acupuncture for pregnancy) as well as pediatric courses. She enjoys educating patients and preventing problems with infertility, fibroids, and endometriosis. She treats conditions from PMS to menopause.
In 2014, Jennifer took a neuro Acupuncture course specializing in in brain dysfunctions. Since she has continued studying Neurology in depth and even teaching other practitioners. She has learned focused treatments on concussions, hearing loss, tinnitus, loss of smell, post-Covid problems, macular degeneration, ADHD, depression, anxiety, neuropathy, nerve and spinal cord injuries.
Jennifer loves being active in our community and giving educational talks or seminars, getting out to the mountains, hiking, rock climbing, running and swimming. Jennifer is happy to be giving back to Calgary as a community and looks forward to helping you reach new heights of wellness!
Dr. Lily Zhang
Acupuncturist
Lily Zhang is a Registered Acupuncturist and Chinese Medicine Practitioner. Lily grew up around Acupuncture and worked with family for 10 years in Beijing before coming to Canada. In Canada, she graduated from the CITCM school in Calgary in 2022. Altogether Lily brings 13 years of experience to her practice. She is committed to ongoing professional development, frequently attending workshops and seminars to stay current with advances in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Lily believes in a holistic approach, integrating both ancient wisdom and modern practices to support her patients’ health and well-being. Recently went to Shenzhen for Studied with recognized TCM masters from China and North America to study for treatment of post-stroke conditions. She loves treating neurological conditions and has a passion for that. She specifically studied weight loss treatments with acupuncture. These treatments are quite specific and involve treatments six days in a row and has specific dietary suggestions. Lily is quite versed in treating pain conditions as well as treating anxiety, depression and low energy. She loves working on female hormones as well. Lily is a skilled practitioner at diagnosing and treating a wide range of illnesses using TCM principles. She is patient focused with a positive and caring energy that she brings to her practice. She speaks English and Mandarin fluently. Lily in her spare time enjoys doing yoga, hiking and loves cooking and crocheting.
Dr. Marie Miller
Acupuncturist
Dr. Marie is a Registered Acupuncturist who offers compassionate care for adults ready to move beyond constantly pushing through and begin working with their body in a more sustainable way. She is especially drawn to supporting those who feel overworked, overtired, and overstressed, helping them restore balance, energy, and clarity.
Rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Marie honors the body’s innate ability to heal when aligned with nature’s rhythms. She considers seasonal changes, environmental factors, and lifestyle patterns in every treatment, creating sessions that are both thoughtful and effective. Preferring a gentle approach, she blends classical and modern acupuncture techniques and TCM modalities to meet each patient’s needs.
Her goal is for patients to leave each session feeling calmer, more grounded, and more connected to their body. She is particularly passionate about supporting headaches, menopause and hormonal health, and neurological concerns such as post-concussion recovery.
Outside the clinic, Marie enjoys biking, camping, horseback riding, and creative projects practices that continually deepen her appreciation for resilient health. She looks forward to welcoming you to Summit Acupuncture.
